BECOME PART OF CONVERGENZA SOCIALISTA WORLDWIDE

What is socialism?
“(…) a system of society based upon the common ownership and democratic control of the means and instruments for producing and distributing wealth by and in the interest of the whole community”. The Socialist Party of Great Britain” (SPGB) – 1904

‘CONVERGENZA SOCIALISTA ITALY’ – CS ITALY

Convergenza Socialista is a socialist political Party born from the ashes of Italian Socialism. We are sure that the neoliberal system is the cause for the excruciating economic and social crisis, which are affecting greatly our time, in all continents of our world. We are socialist and we believe that the neoliberal system must be overcome with socialist policies. Our mission is to contribute to the construction of the political alternative to the neoliberal system, in Italy, internationally and wordlwide.

Introduction – The political Party

Convergenza Socialista (‘Socialist Convergence’ in English) is a new socialist political Party of Italy, which is growing and needs your help to expand its political platform worldwide and therefore achieve precise political goals. We deeply think that socialism is the future of humanity. It is our belief that it is necessary to construct a unique, worldwide, socialist political platform to strategically overcome the globalized, multinational and transnational capitalistic framework.

DO NOT FALL INTO THE TRAP OF RIOTING AGAINST DEMOCRACY

Manuel Santoro, National Secretary

Advice to the American people.

Thousands of American people are protesting against the election of President Trump. Despite how you might feel about it, the democratic process has done its job and while it is the people right to demonstrate peacefully, it is totally unacceptable to follow billionaires, reverends, organizations with the purpose of fomenting riots in different American cities like many times before abroad.

I believe the American people must not fall in this trap. The American people shall consider the importance and the necessity of the democratic vote.

Thus, I say to the American people to be part of the political environment, to engage into the political arena, talk to your fellow citizens, always, constantly, since this is the only way to learn how your nation changes year after year, month after month. Do not just wake up at Election Day.

Be vigilant of the external powers that surround your vote. It is something we have all seen before.
Democratic elected Presidents overthrown by external forces for economic, financial and geopolitical interests. Many times the same plot have being played in different nations and you, my fellow Americans, were not paying attention. Pay attention now because the same machine that has worked so well abroad in changing regimes, Parliaments, elected politicians, has been started in your own Nation.

Do not follow it. It is something we all have seen before. Just a few examples.

Mohammad Mosaddegh was an Iranian politician. He was the democratically elected Prime Minister of Iran from 1951 until 1953, when his government was overthrown in a coup d’état.

The same happened to Jacobo Árbenz Guzmán, a Guatemalan politician. He was the second democratically elected President of Guatemala, serving from 1951 to 1954. A coup was successful in overthrowing Árbenz in 1954.

Salvador Guillermo Allende Gossens was a Chilean politician. He was democratically elected in 1970 and on September 11th, same day and month of the tragic Twins Towers attack in New York, the military killed Allende in a coup d’état putting dictator Augusto Pinochet in power.

At last, Jaime Roldós Aguilera, an Ecuadorian politician, was democratically elected in 1979 and in 1981 and Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych, a Ukrainian politician who was democratically elected president in 2010. Both of them were either killed or overthrown.

Thus, I repeat. Do not fall in the trap of rioting against democracy and its results.

GREETINGS FROM CS TO ALIANZA PAIS FOR THE V NATIONAL CONVENTION

To Movimiento Alianza PAIS

Dear comrades, dear friends,

for the coming V Convention of the Movimiento Alianza Pais to be held on October 1st 2016, I wish to extend a warm greeting to President Correa, leaders, delegates and all those people who will participate to this important meeting.

For those who observe you from the distance, from far away, remember that you are a worldwide reference point of Socialism of the XXI century, and I thank you for the enormous work you are doing in Ecuador and Latin America for socialism.

A job certainly complex and with very strong internal and external pressures . A job which is possible thanks to your ever-renewed willingness to counter the advance of the neo-liberal system and his disciples, scattered everywhere, with increasing arrogance that lurk within the political, economic and information sphere.
We are socialists and we all work to strengthen socialism as a model in opposition to the neo liberal system. Our role is to build solidarity, cement aggregations. We must find the driving forces for an alternative development model, measurable on economic and social sustainability factors and, working together, I think we could do it.

This is an age when we must join forces, build new projects, give hope to people. The light of socialism is still alive but needs to be extended so that it will reach distant, poorly lit places.

Best wishes to all of you,

Manuel Santoro
National Secretary

ITALIAN SOCIALISTS SAY ‘NO SANCTIONS TO RUSSIA’

We, the socialist of Italy, live and work in Europe. We want an united Europe but not an Europe of ‘pecoroni’ (large sheep meaning docile and submissive people).

“On 1 July 2016, the Council prolonged the economic sanctions targeting specific sectors of the Russian economy until 31 January 2017,” said the Council statement.

Once again the European ‘pecoroni’ were genuflecting to the crazy will of the United States and their administration. United States which are not affected at all by the Russian counter-sanctions, but which have a significant recessive impact, however, on European economies.

Thus, we confirm once again to the World to be emeritus European ‘pecoroni’, that is, people who work against their own interests but for interests of others without anything back.

Some may say that is not the fault of the European people, after all. But the European Council consists of the Heads of State or Government of the EU Member States, and it was ‘us ‘, the Europeans people, who brought them to power. Next time vote consciously.

We, the socialist of Italy, declare therefore to be against the sanctions to Russia, against the violent expansion of NATO eastward, against the proliferation of Nazism in Europe, and to be for an autonomous, political and finally democratic Europe, militarily away from NATO.
